Dear Maher family
Paula was a favorite of ours. I got to know her on a trip with the WTC through India in 1987, and later from the Opera, NOMA and the LPO. She was fun, gracious and inquisitive, always looking for the good in people. I admired her as a businesswoman.
She was also active in the WTC and its predecessors, and was very supportive during my years as Prsident of the WTC. Casey and I will miss her genuine and warm-hearted interest in the arts, travel and the lives of her family and friends. Our sincere comdolences. Conny and Casey Willems

I am very sorry to hear of Mrs. Maher’s passing. She was an excellent person and extremely thoughtful with her employees. Throughout the 27 years that I worked at Maher and Company, I was able to experience and appreciate how much she cared for all of us. She will be sincerely missed.

PAULA WAS A BRIGHT, BEAUTIFUL AND FUN WOMAN.
SHE AND I WERE ROOMMATES FOR SEVERAL STOPS DURING OUR THREE WEEK JOURNEY THRU CHINA IN 1979 WITH THE NEW ORLEANS WORLD TRADE ASSOCIATION.
IT WAS AN ADVENTURE AND PAULA WAS TRULY ADVENTUROUS.
SUCH A GREAT LADY AND A GIFT TO ALL WHO KNEW HER.,
MY THOUGHTS ARE WITH YOU.

Paula was one of the most hospitable and generous people I've known. She was always fun to be with and considerate in so many ways. I loved going to M.G. Maher at Christmas with members of the LPO to offer a holiday musical interlude for her staff. Paula was "Mrs. Santa Claus" with smiles and treats for everyone, while always being so level-headed and "real." She will be missed.

What a lovely and gracious lady, as well as an astute businesswoman and community leader. Paula loved to travel. Over the years I was privileged to join her and Josette on a number of NOMA-organized art tours to Europe and the Far East. After every trip, she created a beautiful scrapbook documented with photos and mementos. After admiring these unique creations, Paula started making a second copy for me. I treasure these travel scrapbooks which preserve details of each trip and the fun times I enjoyed with this wonderful friend. My condolences to her family for their great loss.
