Paula Beth Lashley Maher, born August 13, 1922 passed away March 19, 2017. Beloved wife of the late Morris George Maher. Daughter of the late Wm. J.H. Lashley and Josephine Kuehl Lashley. Sister of Gertrude Miriam Lashley Schulingkamp (Robert), Josette Lashley Seifert (Juergen) and the late Ens. Wm. J. H. Lashley and Vernon Lashley (Lynn). Aunt of Capt. William V. Lashley, Byron, David & James Schulingkamp, Rebecca S. Underwood, Claudia S. Duffy, and Christian Seifert. She, together with her late husband and Wm. S. App, started Maher-App & Co. in 1949, later M. G. Maher & Co., Inc., of which she was president until 2014. She also served as president of New Orleans Public Belt RR, and on the boards of International House and International Trade Mart. She was a life-time trustee on the board of the New Orleans Museum of Art, an ardent supporter of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and of many other philanthropic organizations. The family wishes to express their deep debt of gratitude to her loving caregivers Queen Peyton Lowe, Lonnie Little, and Rose Weber.
Visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd. New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 PM and Saturday March 25, 2017 from 10-11 AM, with the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. The burial will take place at St. Louis Cemetery #3, 3421 Esplanade Ave., New Orleans, LA 70119. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, 1010 Common St. New Orleans LA 70112 or Sydney & Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden, New Orleans Museum of Art, 1 Collins Diboll Circle, New Orleans, LA 70124.
