I met Mike when he first came to work for MMS. We worked as Clerk-Typists together in the same office, literally the same room. I was assigned to train Mike on how to do the correspondence. Mike and I became very good friends. Through the years I so enjoyed listening to stories about his family and grand children. I felt I knew them without even having met them; his first grandson he called "Pal" and later Pal's brother, his daughter in NY he called "Butterfly" and his wife Camille.

He and my dad were the same exact age so he became like a father figure to me. I always looked up to him for advice. When my parents got into a really bad car accident in 2006 Mike helped me get through it. When I lost my mom in 2006 he lent a shoulder to lean on.

When he went to Loyola and got his BS, I thought that was so awesome. I wanted to return to college myself but felt that I would not be able to keep with my studies and family at the same time. When Mike did it I could not believe it. That showed the type of person he was.

Mike was such a caring person, could not do enough for anyone. I will never forget Mike. He will always be near and dear to my heart. I pray for his family, especially at this difficult time when they are learning how to live life without Mike in it. I know Mike is looking down on us now and is walking on the streets of gold because Heaven just gained a very special angel. Rest in Peace my friend.

I was so sorry to hear of Mr. Mike's passing. He was such a good, kind, & generous man. He was funny, too, and a great storyteller.....always smiling! He was there for me when my daddy passed away 9 years ago....and I will never forget his kindness. My prayer is that God will comfort his entire family during this sad time. God's peace & love be with all of you.

Mike, was a kind and generous man and a good friend. He was always quick with a joke and a kind word for others. He was always willing to share tales of his life and adventures, which was a good thing, as he was a great storyteller! I learned a lot about his years in the Marines and his experiences working for Borden's Dairy. Great stories and great times. We'll all miss Mike very much!

Mike was one of the nicest people I ever worked with at MMS. He always asked about my son who was close in age to one of his grandsons. He definitely will be missed.

Mr. Mike, oh how you will be missed. You were a very special person and I have fond memories of being your neighbor for many years. I think you were the kindest and sweetest person I have ever known. I know God saved a special place for you in Heaven and you are probably having lots of fun making everyone laugh. It was a blessing to have known you.

My condolences to Michele and the Wallace family. I met Mr. Wallace after a few years of my working at DOI. I asked him if you both were related and he said that you were his daughter. I will always remember his gentle spirit and his love of family. May the Lord comfort you and your family during this difficult time.
