Shirley LeBlanc Cronin

Shirley LeBlanc Cronin passed away on January 13, 2019 at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her husband James A. Cronin, Sr. She is survived by her sons James A. Cronin, Jr. and his wife Peggy, Dennis G. Cronin and his wife Lisa, and Thomas P. Cronin and his wife Debbie. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Marion Dunham (Nick), Jordan Cronin (Jen), Cameron Cronin (Ally) and Crystal Laurentzius (Erik); and great grandchildren, Christian and Caleb Dunham, Adinah, Madison and Sarah Cronin, and Jameson and Julienne Laurentzius; and her sister Jackie Lewis and numerous nieces and nephews. She is the daughter of the late Eugene LeBlanc and Effie LaGrange LeBlanc. Throughout her life, Shirley played numerous sports, and after retiring from UNO, participated in the Louisiana Senior Olympics where she won several medals. Her love of sporting events continued as she cheered on the Saints, the Pelicans and LSU. Her other interests were music and dancing, and she was always the life of the party with her infectious laugh and joy for living.
Funeral services will be held at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, Louisiana, on Thursday, January 17, 2019. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., and a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
