Raymond J Posecai

Raymond Joseph Posecai, Sr., of Covington, Louisiana entered eternal rest on Sunday, June 12, 2022, at the age of 90. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Di Vincent Posecai and his two children, Terri Posecai Kreider (Wayne) and Raymond J. Posecai, Jr. (Patricia). “Pops”, the name his grandchildren fondly called him is survived by Wade Kreider, Cooper Posecai, Sydney Posecai and step-granddaughter Taylor Walden (Jason) and two step-great grandchildren, Elliot and Sawyer Walden.
Raymond was the son of the late Sidney Louis Posecai and Marie Ophelia Picou Posecai. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Sidney and Floyd Posecai and his sister, Marie Louise Gervais Guidroz. He is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was a proud 1949 graduate of Holy Cross High School and his service in the U.S. Air Force 135 AC&W division, Radar Operator during the Korean War. After his Air Force service, he returned to New Orleans and began his insurance career. He started as an underwriter, eventually becoming a manager at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company. He would later own two local independent insurance agencies, before retiring from Eustis Insurance at the age of 87.
When he wasn’t working, he loved travelling, especially going on cruises, square dancing, spending time at the family camp in Grand Isle, duck hunting, fishing, tennis, golf and playing softball in the N.O. Insurance Softball League, where he played until age 60, and of course watching the Saints’ and his Boston Red Sox teams.
He enjoyed doing anything and everything with his family, especially spending time watching his grandchildren playing sports/school activities.
Although he has left us too soon, he will remain forever in our hearts and memories.
