Raymond Robert Hock Jr

Raymond Robert Hock, Jr. passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, March 20, 2023. Ray was 72 years old and he was retired from Jefferson Parish Water Department where he worked for 31 years. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Deborah Cocran-Hock of Metairie, LA, his son, Brian Hock (Beth), his grandsons, Brennan and Bradley Hock; his daughter, Mary Catherine Hock, and granddaughter, Abigail, all of Orlando, Florida; his step-daughter, Angela Sella (Eric) and step-grandson, George, of New Orleans LA. He is also survived by his sisters, Nettie (Tootsie) and Carolyn Hock, of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Ray was known as Coach Ray where he enjoyed coaching boys’ baseball and football teams at Metairie Playground. His baseball team won a championship. Ray enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his Honda Ruckus. He loved his 1973 VW Bug nicknamed Tweetie because of its yellow color and participated in many car shows.

He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in 1969, playing in the marching and stage bands. He was often seen in many Mardi Gras parades on the front row playing his trombone.

Arrangements have been made by Greenwood Funeral Home and Ray’s life will be celebrated on Friday, March 31, 2023, at 11:00 am with visitation 9:30-11:00 am., Reverend Irvin Boudreaux officiating, Donations can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Ray’s memory.
