Dear family. When we received word that a t-45 had gone down from Meridian, we knew that one or more courageous and true all-Americans were lost in defense of our country. From central PA we would like to extend our deepest condolences with kind appreciation for Lieutenant Ruth's service to our country and the next generation of flyers.

Please accept my most heartfelt condolences on the passing of LT Ruth. Although I did not know him personally, he was, nevertheless, a brother and a Shipmate. My thoughts and prayers are for Patrick, his loved ones and your entire family.

Dearest Ruth Family,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write these words of condolences to you all. Our families have been good friends since Patrick and Jason were six years old. I remember him then with that impish grin and outsized personality. I'm sure you have the same memories and many, many others as well. It has been my sincerest pleasure to be friends with you, Dave and Anne and your children and growing family. There are so many wonderful memories of being with you both and your children that it takes my breath away. Those early years are some that I deeply cherish.

Dearest Jessica, I'm so very sorry for your loss. Patrick was an outstanding young man and will be greatly missed. You are in good hands with the Ruth family.

My constant prayers are with all of you in this most difficult time in your lives. I love you all.
