Michael C. “Mike” LaShute, Sr. passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the age of 63. Beloved father of Michael C. “Mikey” LaShute, Jr. (Jenny). Grandfather of Destiny LaShute. Son of the late Samuel J. LaShute and Marilyn A. Brocato. Stepson of Salvadore Brocato. Brother of Lynn LaShute Diliberto (David). Uncle of David Diliberto (Brittany) and Brandi Diliberto Knight (Jacob). He is also survived by his longtime friend, Christy Wirth.
Mr. LaShute worked as a Jockey and an Exercise Rider for many years at the New Orleans Fair Grounds and at numerous other race tracks.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
