Margie Jones Gaudin
May 30, 1942 ~ November 30, 2023 (age 81) 81 Years Old
Margie Jones Gaudin passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at the age of 81. She was born on May 30, 1942, in Ohatchee, Alabama. Margie is the daughter of the late Albert Lee Jones and Ruby Nell Parrish Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Walsh Gaudin, and her brother, Robert Lee Jones.
Margie leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children; Marquetta Leger, Ron Perkins, and Catherine Reitmeyer. She was the sister of Albert Lee Jones Jr. “Shorty” and Dwight Leonard Jones. She was adored by nine grandchildren and known lovingly as Nana to Trisha Person, Katie Cotaya, Noah Leger, Andrew Perkins, Dallas Perkins, Dalton Perkins, Kalliann Perkins, Kelsey Reitmeyer, and Adam Reitmeyer. Margie was the great-grandmother to Emma Person, Grace Person, Liam Person, Audrey Person, Penelope Person, Elisha Person, Hazel Person, et.al. She was also loved by her many nieces and nephews.
Margie was a homemaker and was certified as a cosmetologist where she was able to use those skills to help brighten her client’s day with her ability to listen to their stories and make them feel good about themselves. She was also a proud graduate of Delgado Community College where she obtained an associate degree in accounting. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband Jimmy as well as “cutting a rug” whenever the opportunity arose. In her most recent years she enjoyed being a member of the choir at Roquette Lodge where she was able to sing for her friends and fellow residents. Margie will be missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Monday, December 11, 2023, starting at 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life service in the Chapel at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
