Janice Marie O'Chery

Janice Marie O’Chery, of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on May 22, 2023, at the age of 77. She was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, born on August 29, 1945.

Janice leaves behind to cherish her memory her faithful, loving companion of 40 years, Lawrence R. Zummo; two brothers, James O’Chery, Jr. (Linda) and Charles O’Chery (Ina); stepson, Geno Zummo; grandchildren, Kylie Zummo and Dylan Zummo; great-granddaughter, Kylani Rose Matthews; nieces and nephews.

Janice was preceded in death by her parents, James Paul O’Chery, Sr. and Rita Claire Vuillot O’Chery, and her sister, Mary E. Reynolds.

janice enjoyed cooking, sewing, and the Saints, but most of all, she loved helping raise Kylie and Dylan. Janice will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd, New Orleans, on Friday, May 26, 2023, starting at 10:30 AM, followed by prayers in the parlor at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
