Jacob Edwin “Jack” Paternostro, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at Ochsner Kenner, on July 10, 2021, at the age of 86. He was born on the 4th of July, 1935. He was predeceased by his parents, John Henry Paternostro, Mary Pennino Paternostro and his grandson Tanner Mullet. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Barbara Kirn Paternostro, his children Jay Paternostro (Theresa), Lynn Paternostro Nuebel (Brian) and Kim Paternostro Mullet (Dennis). “Papa”, the name his grandchildren fondly called him, is survived by Bobby, Jamie, Ryan, Nicholas, Megan, Lyndsey and Jacob, as well as four great grandchildren, Bentley, Remington, Ellie and Jack. Jack is also survived by his sisters, Cathy Villars, Linda Terranova and many nieces and nephews. Jack was born in New Orleans and lived there most of his life. He spent the last 27 years residing in Kenner. He loved spending time with his family, especially on his birthday at the Broadwater Beach Resort, in Biloxi, MS. Jack was very proud of his Sicilian Heritage. He was an avid fan of the Saints and Tulane football. Jack loved playing the guitar and singing Dean Martin’s Songbook. He will be greatly missed and always remembered in our hearts. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 1:00 pm, on Monday, July 19, 2021, in the Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
