Gloria A Venezia

Gloria A. Venezia, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 20, 2020. She was born in New Orleans, La and lived in Metairie for over 50 years. Gloria is preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Philip Venezia, Jr.; parents James Anselmo, Sr. and Theresa Delas Anselmo. She is survived by her daughters Gloria V. Garland (the late David), Jo Ann V. DeCorte ( Kenneth) and Theresa V. Bates (Bernie); brother, Jimmy Anselmo, Jr. (Joan); Grandchildren, Kim M. Wactor, William “Billy” Maas (Cherie) and Tiffany B. Seager (Lonnie); Great Grandchildren, Jeremy Wactor (Jourdan), Tabatha and Tylar Seager and Cameron Maas; Great-Great Grandchildren Jennings and Jett Wactor, Haxon and Harmony Seager; Step-grandchildren, Joanne DeCorte (Glenn), Cheryl Hollerbach (Rich) and the late Kenny DeCorte, Jr.; Step-great grandchildren Candace Sims (Michael), Leighanne Sessum, Taylor DeCorte, Jenna and Kaylee Hollerbach; Step Great-Great Grandchildren Zelda, Tatiana, Darryl, Jr., Khloe, Aurora.

Gloria loved dancing and enjoyed family gatherings. Her pastime was going to the casinos with family and friends. She had a special place in her heart for all of her sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews and close family friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at St. Ann Catholic Church and Shrine, 3601 Transcontential Drive, Metairie, La on Wednesday September 30, 2020 at 10:30 AM with Word of Remembrance at 11:45 AM followed by a Mass at Noon. Burial at Greenwood Cemetery with a Celebration of Life gathering at Ms. Gloris Venezia’s Home after. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the patron St. Anthony at a church of your choice.
