Gaynell Marie Markey Robin (Gigi)

On Sunday, February 28, 2021, Gaynell Marie Markey Robin (Gigi), wife of the late Deacon Angelas Robin for 52 years, passed away on her 80th birthday. Mother of Keri Robin Murphy (Todd) and Kristi Robin Ferrante (Billy). Grandmother of Kaci Murphy Mahler (Dustin), Allison Graffeo (Daniel Dubuc), Kelli Murphy (Ross Miller), Rachael Ferrante Gaudet (Gerard), Rebecca Ferrante Unger (Jordan). Great-Grandmother of Owen and Hayden Mahler, Eleanor and Hugh Gaudet and Juliet Unger. Also survived by her beloved sisters Shirley Mae Markey and Agnes “Patsy” Montegut. Preceded in death by her parents Agnes Dunn Markey and Robert Vincent Markey, brother Robert V. Markey (RV), Michael Markey and Betty Markey Smith. She was born in New Orleans, LA and resided in Metairie, LA until her passing.

Gaynell was a proud graduate of St. Joseph High in 1959 and an active parishioner of both St. Joseph and St. Mary Magdalen churches. She has always been a kind, sweet and a loving person with a generous heart. Her compassion and devotion to family and friends will be sorely missed. Her greatest accomplishments in her life were her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 West Metairie on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 12:30 pm. Visitation will begin at 10:00am, Words of Remembrance at 12:15 pm, with the Mass to follow. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 is appreciated. Due to COVID 19 regulations, please follow the current restrictions and everyone attending is required to wear a mask and adhere to social distancing.
