Elizabeth Ulrich Sallinger

On Friday, September 23, 2022 Elizabeth “Liz” Ulrich Sallinger passed away at the age of 84. Liz was born in Pass Christian, MS to Edvige Babin Ulrich and Bernard Thomas Ulrich, Sr. Liz is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Louis Sallinger; her son, Kevin James Sallinger; her son-in-law, Robert “Bobby” Michael Clavier; her parents, Edvige and Bernard Ulrich, Sr., along with her nine siblings, Godfrey, Dennis, Bernard, Jr., John, Jack, Raymond, Louis, and Howard Ulrich and Margaret Ulrich Sims.
She is survived by her remaining children, Jean Sallinger Clavier, Julie Ann Sallinger, Michael Phillip Sallinger (Theresa), Linda Sallinger Orth (Keith), Angelle Sallinger Echelard (Rene), and Ann Marie Sallinger; her ten grandchildren, Corey Clavier (Kate), Jason Whitlock, Parrish Orth (Jessica), Jeremy Echelard (Ashley), Jessica Echelard Morse (Jeff), Kevin Clavier, Miranda Whitlock, Ronald Childre, Lyndsey Sallinger, and Jennie Echelard Thornton (Sean); her six great-grandchildren, Jayce Echelard, Addison Echelard, Carter Clavier, Cameron Clavier, Ellie Whitlock, Margot Morse, and Camille Echelard. She is also survived by a large extended family and friends.

Liz was a caring, giving, and selfless person who was very proud of her large family and it brought her great joy being around her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved Elvis, Mardi Gras parades, cards, movies, music, and dancing.

She was a resident of Metairie Manor for over ten years where she made numerous friends and enjoyed Bingo, Saints games, dances, coffee-time, and the many functions at Metairie Manor. Liz also was a member of the Metairie Manor Guild.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Monday, October 3rd from 11am – 1pm at Greenwood Funeral Home located at 5200 Canal Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70124. A Funeral Mass will follow the Visitation and begin at 1pm. Interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery immediately after mass. Online guestbook at www.greenwoodfh.com
