Curtis Anthony LeBlanc passed away at the age of 85 on Monday April 24, 2017. Curtis was born on August 29, 1931 in Lafourche Parish to the late Noella Josephine Orgeron and Cleophas LeBlanc Jr.
He is preceded by death by his siblings, Bertha May, Gloria Kern, Joseph LeBlanc, Donald LeBlanc, Milton LeBlanc, Loretta Saragusa, and Wilma Marshall.
He will be missed by his friends and relatives along with his many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly. He was kind and generous to all.
Curtis joined the US Army and was Headquartered at the Company 101st Airborne Division. After an Honorable Discharge on December 12, 1951 he then served his country for 34 years and was Honorably Retired from the Military Sealift Command, Pacific on May 1, 1987. He proudly served as the Chief Engineer on the survey vessel USNS Chauvenet (T-AGS-29).
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service and Mass at the Greenwood Funeral Home Chapel, 5200 Canal Blvd. in New Orleans, LA. On Saturday May 6, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Visitation will begin at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for the wonderful care and compassion shown to our loved one by the staff of the Ocshner Hospitals main facility. Curtis was very thankful for the care given to him by his nephew Ronald Saragusa and friend Carol Coloton.
