Shirley Waters Sumrall, passed away at the Pontchartrain Health Center on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the age of 87 years.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin R. Sumrall, her parents, Nemea and Henry Waters, her brother Harry Waters, and her sister Doris A. Waters.  She leaves behind her children, Ellen Burkart (the late Mark Burkart), Laura Tucker (Mitch), Edwin “Ricky” Sumrall (Betty Jean), Mark Sumrall (Kathy), Keith Sumrall (Brennan), and her sister Helen Lewis.  Grandchildren Edwin Sumrall (MJ), Heather Thornton (Ray), Michael Tucker, Callie Tucker, Matthew Burkart, Grace Tucker, Luke Burkart and great-grandchildren Edwin Sumrall, Landon Sumrall and Jojo Sumrall.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Visitation Service at Greenwood Funeral Home, 5200 Canal Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124 on Friday, May 19, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM. The burial services will be at Greenwood Cemetery.
